Fat Girl Swimming - The World Didn't End... Did It?

After Swimming!
Face Your Fears: They can't hold you hostage!

I made a to-do list at the beginning of June and wrote a list of things I’d like to accomplish by the end of the month. Being called fat so many times in my life has made me weary about showing my body but one morning I decided to take the bull by the horns and do something I’ve wanted to do for so long. Swim. Flabby arms out, big belly and back humps all exposed I took the plunge and went for it.

Drastically I was shocked by what occurred... NOTHING! That’s right, nothing, nada! No one told me I shouldn’t be there and after strutting in with confidence with the mantra ‘fake it till you make it’ I ended up thoroughly enjoying myself and forgetting that I was in fact half naked.

I believe that one of the reasons I was so comfortable was the location, Killyhevlin Lakeside Hotel & Lodges offer amazing facilities including, hot tub, swimming pool, and Jacuzzis. My mum and I decided to try the Jacuzzi first and it was exhilarating. The bubbles, the heat it was everything I could want and more.

The second reason I felt comfortable and later amazing was my costume! Back in February, I received the Seaspray Alina Draped High Back costume from UK Swimwear to try it out and see what I think of them and I've been patiently waiting till June to put it on and go swimming.

Along with the brighcolours, contrast and design being both fashionable and material comfortable. The size I'm wearing is a 24 I'm normally 22-24 but wanted to opt for the larger size as a personal choice.

It all depends what you're looking for in a fit and costume, no matter your size I believe this is perfect plus as an added bonus since I hate my back showing, I requested a high back swimsuit and with it being longer in length as well, Seaspray is something I would highly recommend.

I believe if I hadn't of worn this costume I wouldn't have felt as confident with the adjustable straps, cup mold and tummy control you couldn't ask for more!

When mum and I decided to try the swimming pool I forgot how to swim. No Joke! It was embarrassing. I thought I’d take to the water like a duck, after watching my mum swim lengths I knew it was something I wanted. With a paddle float in tow, I started to swim. The thing I was struggling with was my arms I used to swim differently to how I taught myself now and it’s actually easier. I held on tightly to the float and after a while of half lengths I put it under one arm and moved the other through the water to spring me forward. After a while of what I swapped to the other arm then I threw the float away and swam.

I swam a number of lengths I didn’t think my body was capable off but it felt amazing. I felt free and confident in the water. At first I was going to let embarrassment take over and not use the float but in the end, I realized that I hadn’t actually accomplished anything if I didn’t swim.

This is just the beginning of my swimming, I’m ready to do it again. Face Your Fears: There Not Really Yours, There What Some Want You To Feel.

I received this costume in exchange for an honest review. My opinion is based purely on my experience and from that, I would happily recommend them.

The World most definitely DID NOT end which is why I'm going to face more silly body fears!

  17. You will begin at the edge of that shallow end and work to place in a part of liner each a few feet along the long divider. It is ideal to have get the liner with your driving arm and hold the weight while utilizing the other hand to set up a segment of the liner that is a couple of feet long itself. Clearly wellbeing is a genuine worry with this progression as falling advances into the pool could be deadly. In the event that you play out this progression with four individuals every one will actually want to stay in three resources with the ground while advancing towards the profound end divider. pool contractors page
