19 May 2020

As soon as I saw this bright, striped rainbow skirt from Collectif I just had to have it! It's a summer season must and although we're living in pretty much uncertain times I know as soon as lockdown is over and we are safe to meet friends, grab a cocktail or two or even have a lunch date I will be wearing this every chance I get!

Thanks to my sister I discovered a new little haven in the middle of Belfast! Recently opened Lisa's Attic is a boutique with a difference, a major difference. They stock Plus-Size fashion, to say I'm surprised is a major understatement.

What I Wore: I left my < 3 in Paris!

11 May 2015

Recently on social media I have been sharing that I've been quite sick, I haven't went into much detail about it because well... no one actually needs to hear but I haven't been feeling well at all which is why on Saturday I decided to take a dander round to the shop with my mum to get abit of air about me.

I was absolutely drained afterwards, although I did manage to get a few photos beforehand of me in my new SimplyBe t-shirt which I love. I got it while shopping in Belfast a few weeks ago and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to purchase it! I've been obsessed with Paris since I was a little girl so I can't even put into words how much it suits me in relation to my obsession with the beautiful city.

As you can see from the pics below I kept things super casual which isn't me at all, I didn't even do my full make-up. (I can't leave my house without at least my foundation on) so that's what I done.

As you can probably tell I LOVE my legs in these jeggings from New Look!

What I Wore:

T-Shirt: SimplyBe [ £10.00 ]
Jeggings: New Look/Inspire [ £19.99 ]

Shoes & Handbag Both Primark

What do you think of my outfit? Have you got any city themed t-shirts?

#WeAreTheThey: They shouldn't be wearing!

29 Apr 2015

As a big girl I often get told what and what not wear, whether it be tight clothing as it'll accentuate my rolls, high-heels because I might break them, jeggings/leggings or skinny jeans because I have big thighs, sexy lingerie because well.. fat people shouldn't wear THAT... duh! Short vest tops that will show my bingo wings.. Need I go on? I can sit here and list all night the things I I've been told I shouldn't be wearing but where would the fun in that be if I'd actually listened?

A week on from when #WeAreTheyThey hit social media worldwide the amazing Debz has gotten bloggers involved in something new, sharing what we shouldn't wear including any rules we've broken with our body.

I'm a constant rule breaker in life so if someone tells me not to do something you can bet your bottom dollar I'm going to do it.. take a look below for examples. These are things in which people have said to me.

"You're so heavy to wear high heels!" Does it look like I am?

"You should wear flowy tops as they don't shape your belly!" Wait what?

"Don't wear tight clothing!" Why is it a crime?

"Aren't you embarrassed to wear short sleeves?" No.. should I be?

"You can't show your legs, look at the size of you!" I don't need to look!

No matter your size or shape no one can dictate to you what you should or shouldn't wear. It's taken me years to finally build up the strength to say that but I finally have because no ones opinion should matter except your own.

Have you broken a fashion rule? OR have you went against what someone has said you should or shouldn't be doing? Then join in #WeAreTheyThey tonight on Twitter and get involved.. you know you want to! :)

To Jamelia #WeAreTheThey

22 Apr 2015

I'm jumping on the bandwagon with my SIZE 22 ass (lets hope it don't tip) and blogging about the #WeAreTheThey hashtag that has taken Twitter and Instagram by storm tonight and which has seen both women AND men tweeting messages, quotes and even sharing pictures of themselves to show that they are beautiful no matter their size!

What sparked this trending spree you might ask? Well, it's all down to a few comments which Jamelia (the singer from years ago) shared with viewers on the ITV programme Loose Women and thought she'd get away with! Tough luck though to her because those comments were never going to be forgotten or ignored by the *they* of people she so unkindly meant.

The *they* in which has brought people within her perfect sizes 6-20 and outside of it together in a ban to spread body confidence, self love and to her that they not only accept each other but that when needed to we will come together and fight of any unwanted and rude comments that no "apology" can undo!

Jamelia believes we should have "specialist" shops if your are above or below sizes 6-20 as she doesn't think "it's right to facilitate people having an unhealthy lifestyle." I can share with you right now that I am a size 22 and I have a HEALTHY lifestyle, sure I don't exercise as much as I should and I most likely eat the wrong food but my health is fine. Wait, why am I even trying to justify myself because it's no ones damn business.. is it?

*Specialist* shops like Yours Clothing, Evans and Pink Clove are obviously catering to women within their sizing categories because they know there is a market for them. There clothes are beautiful and make the women to wear them feel the same way. Not Just with the specialist shops but what about the likes of Primark? Where this has happened to me..

I'm wearing a large sized Kimono from Primark and I can be pretty sure Michelle Keegan (from TV show Ordinary Lies) isn't wearing the same size BUT the same Kimono! Does this mean I shouldn't be allowed to wear it because it's obvious they are facilitating me?

I've dealt with unwanted comments and bullying about my weight my whole life and I'm only starting to love my body and accept myself because of the clothes I wear! That confidence comes from me yes but it's what I wear that makes me feel it in the inside and no amount of comments from Jamelia is going to stop obesity, eating disorders or bullying.

Unlike Jamelia said we shouldn't feel uncomfortable when we go into a shop and can't find our size because we're not purposefully going to go into a shop if we know they don't cater to us as an individual whether it be our size or taste.  When I can't find my size all I get is annoyed because I know the shop has sold out as it's the most popular.

Instead of all this anguish and unwanted criticism why not concentrate on building each other up instead of trying to knock down a minority that has proven to no end we will fight. We are Sisters, Mothers, Daughters, Aunts, Grandmothers but most of all we're women and we are all the same! Beauty shouldn't be measured from your dress size but from the kindness in your heart. Don't judge anyones capabilities or health on they look, instead look at the bigger picture and realise that some things are to big for narrow little minds.

The #WeAreTheThey hashtag is ALL thanks to Debz from The Not So Secret Diary of A Wannabe Princess and we all blimming love and thank her for starting it! :)

Get involved by using the hashtag and share your favourite pictures of yourself to keep this trending as long as possible!

OOTD: Feeling Blue

17 Mar 2015

This outfit is so out of my comfort zone that I <3 it! I kept nosying at this Kimono for weeks on the New Look website that one night I got sticky fingers and (not accidentally) bought a new pair of jeggings as well! Woops! #SorryNotSorry

I was abit sceptical of ordering clothes online as normally from other retailers the sizing isn't great but the sizing with the Kimono is perfect!

I haven't posted an outfit post in quite a while but I have been on quite a few shopping sprees mainly consisting of Primark, New Look, Asda & Evans and have a few for the near future to share!

From the pictures you can't really see but the jeggings are bright blue and so comfy, they are the perfect fit!

OOTW - Tartan Blanket Cape

23 Jan 2015

This is my first EVER outfit post on Voluptuous Chatterbox and there's a very special reason why I chose it! I've been nervous about posting pictures for quite sometime but after yesterday I came to the decision that... I don't care what anyone says about me..

Ever since I first wore my cape in college there have always been jokes about me wearing a rug that you'd find at the back of a car.. These jokes have came from 1 guy in my class... until yesterday they didn't bother me until that is he said that it has a dog to match! That I'm a dog therefore it suits me! Normally I'd get upset but I didn't.. I was composed and carried on with my work. (Nosying on New Look instead)  But it was humiliating and I know in myself if someone says something about me or what I wear I wouldn't wear it again but I love this!

So today... I've decided to do my first outfit post. I'm not to sure what I add or what to include but I will get the hang of it. :)

Thanks to my sister for taking the pics! :)

Tartan Blanket Cape - New Look £19.99
Green Top - £6
Jeggings  - £17.99

What do you include in your outfit posts? Any tips for me?
