A Slimming Night Out...

5 Dec 2014

Wednesday night past was my Slimming World dinner held in the Strangford Arms in a private function room after our dinner there was a DJ and what started of as going to be a nice quiet evening soon turned.. In a good way ofcourse! I had an absolute fabulous time and never thought I'd say these next words in my life.. I WAS DANCING! I was up dancing with a few of the girls from another one of the SW classes and then I was dancing with a man called Clive who was such a gentleman! All I kept saying was *I don't know how to dance* *I've never done this* or just standing there but once I heard Shania Twain - Man! I feel like a Woman? Well that was me! I was off and literally didn't stop moving till the night ended!

I'm not going to lie it wasn't easy, when I first got up to dance I literally froze and believed everyone was looking at me so I panicked and as you can probably guess what happened next.. I had an anxiety attack! I removed myself from the room and went straight to the toilets. As far as I was aware I was alone but that wasn't the case and another slimmer was there. Her name was Debbie - she was fantastic and calmed me down once I explained to her why it was happening and awhile later returned with another woman called Janice who was lovely and helpful as well! It was true what they said everyone at Slimming world is there for the same reasons and there all going to be supportive to each other.

It wasn't until I left the toilets that it came to me, I was running! Running because I was scared that people were judging me and those people weren't! I haven't panicked like that in months (even years) and it came as a massive eye opener that I'm fed up running or hiding or feeling like I can't be myself because of what others may think.. If others are actually going to judge you negatively or have a strong opinion on your life shouldn't they perhaps get one of their own? That's when I made the choice to get up and dance with people I'd never met before but who all joined in together cause that's what it's all about!

I was sitting at a table with a couple of really nice women one in particular was sitting beside me! My aunt was also there as I joined Slimming World thanks to her!

(my aunt)

I'm also quite happy as the dancing most likely burned of my meal which I'm thankful for as it was absolutely delicious! See below:

Starter: Potato & Leek soup

Main Course: Mash Potato with vegetables

Dessert: Ice-cream with flake and raspberry sauce!

Something I left to the last minute was an outfit but I got there in the end and am also wearing this again for my work do on Friday 12 as I don't believe I could find another dress and I love this! I'm going to wait till next week to go into further detail on my outfit, but I just want to post a picture first! :)

All in All: I had a fab night with really fun and lighthearted women whose whole reason for going was to have fun and no one was excluded in the whole night! Even if you didn't know anyone you still felt included and were able to have a ball! I'm really glad I went and even though there was a little blip during the evening I'm really looking forward to getting on track to reaching my target weight and staying to class!

What do you think of the dress? Do any of you go to Slimming World or have you? Do you have any dinners coming up you're attending?

Dusting of the cobwebs - Bucket List, Work, Ant & Dec and dating!

17 Nov 2014

Was it really July the last time I blogged? Yikes! I am very behind on things that have happened (some very life affirming things) so I'm gonna get started....

I GOT A JOB! I actually finally got a job! I mean I searched and searched and applied and applied for numerous jobs left right and centre and I got given an opportunity right on my doorstep near enough! (Which I actually really enjoy and like!) It's also opened up so many learning opportunities as I am currently studying Level 3 Business & Administration.. Looks like I'm not quite finished with studying.

I'm also planning on looking into doing a night course as well, although on which subject I'm not to sure. I'm positive I'll think of something though.

* * * * *

August was an amazing month for me, not only was it my 21st birthday I also nabbed a ticket to Ant & Decs Saturday night takeaway on tour when it arrived in Belfast at the odyssey Arena (courtesy of the company I'm currently working for) We were up in our own box and it felt lush.  I would really recommend anyone to go see them live in action as it was just as entertaining as watching them on my TV screen... even more so.

The night consisted of Eamon Holmes and Stephen Nolan helping out with performances from Blue, Ashley Roberts and even Ant & Dec themselves performing their hit let's get ready to rumble.

It was one of the most fantastic, memorable and eye-opening experiences of my life so far. Eye-opening because I was able to let go and just have fun.

The following day was also really good as it was my birthday, to  celebrate I went out for lunch with my sister, mum and mums partner and had a really good time! (Also got Frozen on DVD so was finally able to see it!

* * * * *

I have also went out with work for dinner for someone leaving! (I literally panicked before eating in front of everyone but I got there in the end after making an impromptu call to my sister and had a delicious meal at Chef & Manager in Newtownards! (was absolutely lovely and the staff were so friendly!

I also had adult food consisting of Potatoes and chefs vegetables instead of my usual dinner a gravy chip, I thought it best to have grown up food as I was out with work! I really couldn't order a gravy chip in front of my boss.... could I? :o

* * * * *

My bucket list is going quite good as well which I'm really surprised and pleased about, I just have to update it and write posts on the things completed!

* * * * *

There have also been a few things happening that have caused me to take a step back and to concentrate on me! Sometimes things get a bit manic and we need to shut of, I'm trying to come to a relaxed agreement with myself that when things get to stressed I am able to take a time out and not to worry about anything else.

People keep telling me I worry and overthink to much so I'm trying to change that as well which is going to be a struggle... Worrying is second nature to me!

I've dusted off all the cobwebs and decided to write this post in different parts to make it easier on my brain I promise I won't be so frazzled and over the place next time! :)

Thanks for reading!

Grans 80th Birthday Party..

20 May 2014

My granny turned 80 recently and as a way to celebrate we had a *surprise* party for her on Sunday... the reason the surprise has wee stars round it is because I told her last month thinking she knew about it.. I found out it was meant to be a surprise when the invite came.. though either she has a good poker face or she genuinely did forget.. I'm going for the latter :)

The celebration was held in a wee hall not far from where I live and everything was set up so lovely and it really was really nice....

Waow I apologise I babbled straight there but I know what'll it make you feel better from reading my nonsense.. cupcakes! LOOKIE:

ROLO CUPCAKE! (Not nice.. had gooey stuff inside :()

LEFT - RIGHT: Me, My granny and my dad!

My granny and I!

All in all it turned out to be an okay day.. I didn't stay for the full three hours only half of that but it was for my granny and she enjoyed herself which is the main thing... :)

Thanks
Kerry-Ann xx

I PASSED MY MATHS!

8 May 2014

Gah! I've shared it to twitter, facebook and also text nearly everyone in my phone oh and now I'm posting it here! I'm waiting for someone to go *yeah we know already get over it* but honestly? I don't think I've done a happy dance yet!

Celebrate!
For 5 years I've been trying to complete this one level and have never got the grasp of it.. I never understand it and I never thought I'd get it! BUT I finally did which is why I'm so excited about finally achieving my numeracy level 2! (Yeah only level 2 and am stuck) I'm so content with this level that I am NEVER going any higher.. well maybe... perhaps.. we'll wait and see! Never say never isn't that what they say?
I find it incredibly alarming the rush you're able to get just by achieving something you've been working hard to do. I find I'm asking myself already (Can we remember I passed just a few hours ago) what's next? What am I going to do next? What do I think I can achieve or what will I set my mind to? I have a few ideas although whether they come about is another thing... I have a feeling they won't but hey it's still nice to dream!
Emma Watson is
I've received SO MANY lovely messages today, mostly to do with my numeracy but not all and it's shown me that I view myself very differently than others do.. so I'm going to try and see myself the way others do!
This post may not make that much sense as it's 01:16 and I've been up from 7am so I'm a tad tired.. :-/ but hey I included GIFs!
Have you felt happy or got a sudden rush from something you passed or achieved? What was it?

Beauty Review: Minajesty - Nicki Minaj

28 Apr 2014

As the seasons are changing and the better weather coming in I decided I needed a fresh, fruity and girly scent to wear! For Christmas I got Diesel Loverdose Tattoo and although I still love it I really wanted something to get me in the mood for summer so when I saw all the exclusive deals The Perfume Shop were offering I knew it was my perfect opportunity to look no further for the perfect buy.

I was spritzing my sister with all the testers to see which one I preferred when the shop assistant told me about Minajesty. As soon as it was sprayed I knew it was the perfect one! It's sweet, light and not at all like my normal preference.. plus it sorta smells like the cocktail Cosmopolitan. ;) (To me anywho)

Another fab thing? It came with a black bag.. since my old one had only just ripped two days prior to buying this I think it was the best thing all round!
Perfume information:
30 mls
Price: £23.50

I love how the shape of the bottle is Nicki Minaj! It's makes it more unique than a boring old square bottle! :)

Have you bought any new perfumes recently you recommend I give a try? What do you think of Minajesty?

My online dating experience.. and why I show my middle finger to it!

23 Apr 2014

I signed up for an account on Plenty of Fish around 4 weeks ago and I think it deserves a name change to Plenty of Pigs! (No actually.. I love pigs.. pigs are too nice to even be considered in the same sentence) More like Plenty of Morons! (I know very original)

I decided to embrace the unknown and give online dating a try although sitting here now I know my whole perspective has changed. I was insulted and left feeling a mixture of emotions. Apparently alot of men feel brave behind a computer and a keyboard and think it's okay to insult and give verbal abuse to someone they know nothing about or to judge them by a picture.  I think they should grow some balls, grow up and respect a lady! (I promise am a lady.. most of the time! ;))

doubtful

The majority of men MESSAGED ME not the other way around. I feel the need to point that out plus I had it stated on my profile my body type, what I was looking for, (which I don't believe matters) and that I'd send them a picture upon their request!)

There was one thing that seemed to stick the whole time and that was my weight, my fat, my belly, my over sized stomach! They all didn't want to talk to me after I sent them a picture of myself. I know I should feel insulted but I don't because it just proves I obviously am to big for there shallow little minds. They also seemed to think that because of my weight I was attracted to them and out for what I could get! Anyone that knows me well knows I'm high maintenance plus I may be a BBW but that don't mean I'm attracted to every guy in sight.. I do get options!

Three things I learnt from my experience:
1, Those men cannot read.
2, Those men must have only been looking for one thing only (S.E.X) and therefore did not bother to read my profile!
3, Read number 1 and 2!
Woah!
That being said I did talk to a few genuine guys who seemed nice enough but I didn't really feel a click with any of them.. it seemed to be all heading in the friendship zone. Probably cause I can have a bit of banter with them and a good conversation. Although there was one... it seemed perfect at first! After 10 messages he told me he thought I was the one and I fell head over heels in love with him so when he asked me to give him my bank details so he could come visit me I instantly jumped at the chance...
....
.....
......
Do people really think you're that gullible (stupid) in todays day and age? REALLY? Actually don't answer that.. I decided the distance was to far and going to be a struggle... he was heartbroken.. I was happy my money was safe and we went our separate ways.. (I deleted his ass soon as he sent the first message!)
One thing that bugged me though was a guy who felt the need message and call me a whore, fat, ugly and more insulting names from the description of myself shown on my profile.. he was a father with a child under one year! Can't help but think of the great example he's setting for his son on how to treat a woman..
Not to insult them or to offend and lower myself to their level but one thing I find attractive on a guy is text speak and someone who has good grammar. Something which these guys sadly did not have.. It was so hard to try and figure out what some of them meant, I really badly wanted to comment on it but for my better nature I didn't.
I still have my profile for those I'm talking to because they are really interesting guys although I'm not actively looking for a relationship, I just know that perhaps online dating isn't for me.. I think I'm ready to delete my profile so am showing my middle finger to it and putting it down as a lesson well learnt!
So I leave you with something I came across the other day for all men out there to think about.. something which men have been saying for years.. something which I think all women should remember for future reference if ever insulted about their weight by a man..

In my head they have this expression.. because they know it's true!
Utter Disbelief
(The site (POF) in itself was amazing, great features, graphics and a really good easy to use mobile app for smart phones. I love everything about POF especially how you were able to upload private pictures. In this post I in no way want to discourage you from signing up for an account, you may have better luck than me! The only problem with POF for me were the users. There is humour in this post because if I didn't dissect a little humour it would have been a big long drone!)
What do you think of online dating? Have you tried it? What were your experiences?

Review: LMcG Jewellery and Crafts

21 Apr 2014

Anyone that knows me knows I have an obsession and an addiction to jewellery! I believe it can definitely make or break an outfit, I especially have a thing for quirky, unique, outrageous accessories. (I even have beads I call my Miss Piggy pearls) so when I mentioned  in a previous post about the new beautifully handmade jewellery I'd recently purchased from LMcG Jewellery and Crafts at a Fundraising Coffee Morning I did not expect to receive messages from readers wanting to know more about where these fab pieces came from which is why I decided to do a review and share all the information you may need on how to nab your own! :)

LMcg Jewellery and craft are handmade and unique accessories at affordable prices made by Laura McGarvey who has a passion for all things jewellery. If you live locally you can collect or get your pieces delivered. If you live on the UK mainland you can get items sent to you. Check out her facebook page HERE or send her an email to:  lmcgjewellery@hotmail.co.uk
(She can also make personalised items as well)
Below are my items:

My dad saw me taking an interest in this wee jewellery box (£10) (pictured below) and when I was outside getting some air he went and bought it for me. :) The special thing about this is it's all hand painted and decoupaged.
I bought this necklace (£8) of the same designer which is also handmade, I think things are much more special when someone has put so much effort and work into something.
My sister bought this (pictured below) which I absolutely adore. It's very tribey to me and male me think of  the quilettes from Twilight. It suits her down to a T.

Below are a few pictures of my fave items (necklaces, bracelets and earrings) that have been made (there are more available)

I want this next item so darn bad I'm thinking of emailing now and asking for it! It's so bright and summery it really just makes me smile and happy looking at it!

What do you think of the jewellery? Will you be purchasing any of it? Do you have a fave item already?

Fundraising Coffee Morning

18 Apr 2014

Last Saturday my dads partner invited my sister and I to an Autism Coffee morning, at first I was hesitant to agree but my sister burst on there with her guldering voice and said yes.. so then I was put on the spot and ofcourse I couldn't say no.. could I?

My thoughts ran wild the week leading up to it and my anxiety was literally going haywire, was I really going to send myself into a crowded room full of strangers where I'd most likely be scared the whole time and obsessed with what they were thinking about me or where the closest exit was? Well as I keep trying to convince myself I'm not a mind reader as sad as that is I'm not.. so I did exactly that! I went.. I saw.. I enjoyed.. I conquered! (Mostly because I found out there would be stalls where I could buy things. When anxious or in doubt of yourself.. GO SHOPPING! ;)

The surprising thing is I thoroughly enjoyed myself, everyone was incredibly nice and I don't think I've been that relaxed in a crowd for years.. I also felt so comfortable in myself I ate.. two cupcakes people and 2 bits of bread! (I sound crazy right?) Although when you rarely eat in public because you're nervous about what people think about you then it gets to be a sort of recurring habit. I conquered that though! :)

Enough about all that though look what goodies I have from the day:

My dad saw me taking an interest in this wee jewellery box (£10) (pictured below) and when I was outside getting some air he went and bought it for me. :) The special thing about this is it's all hand painted and decoupaged by LMcG Jewellery and Crafts.

I bought this necklace (£8) of the same designer which is also handmade, I think things are much more special when someone has put so much effort and work into something.

My lovely sister bought me a pink flowery purse as an Easter present for being such an amazing sister.. :)

Admire the box thought it came in first..

And finally I bought this scarf.. :)
Isn't it pretty? I love the bright colours as it feels so springy summery!
My dad bought loads of raffle tickets and he gave my sister and I two rows each.. we made a deal (well I did) if one of the numbers we had got called out then we could pick the prize.. the first number called I had.. although my sister with her voice again called out picking the cupcakes below..
the second number called out? Megan had it.. yeah you heard her voice again this time wanting ribbons! Can I be angry though I didn't get to pick? Damn no way! Them cupcakes were amazing! (I even had two.. or three ;))

All in all it was a really fun day and I am so glad I made the right decision to go..
How did you spend your Saturday?
