10 Pieces Advice I Would Have Given Myself 10 Years Ago... 10 Years Photo Challenge!

2 Jan 2020

Recently I've been seeing so many people on different social media platforms share two photos side by side with 10 years apart. It's fun and nice to see the differences and take into consideration how many changes there are BUT there is also one thing I've noticed and that's how much negativity there is surrounding this challenge.

A Birthday Message is all I Need.. or a real tiara will do!

Growing up I've never enjoyed my birthdays from being center of attention, as a child sure I got the occasional silly gift, a bicycle, trampoline, mobiles and hundreds of barbies which made me the happiest girl ever but each time it came to making a wish by blowing out the candles on my birthday cake, things never came true! I never got that good singing voice, my sister never played barbies with me for a day and I never actually fell in love with Prince Harry. I did get a tiara though! Don't judge okay? It's not pretty being judgy!

Tiara Megan got me years ago for my birthday!

Over the years I've been told I'm hard to buy for, that I'm so indecisive and moneys better to give me but when truth comes to shove I'd rather just have that attention I hated so much as a child.  I dislike people going out of their way to get me a gift, or giving me money when they're struggling enough as it is.

I have everything I want and need which is why I hope this year for my 24th I get to spend some time alone with my fiance to relax and watch a movie, to go for a walk with my mum and enjoy our giggling chats along the way and also to spend time with my sister as Megan loves my birthday. (I'm gonna force her to watch Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson.) Gotta have some influence and sway on my birthday!

All anyone needs on their birthday is a card to let someone know you're thinking of them. Christmas however? That's a whole different scenario! Christmas pressies all the way with ribbons, bows, glitter and sparkle! Won't be long tis the season starts...

What do you think of my post? Do you think people go overboard when they can't really afford it?  Do you personally look for more than a card? Let me know in the comments below.

Some Things Are Worth Waiting For

7 Aug 2017

A concept I truly accepted recently is that some things really are worth waiting for.

I'm impatient to say the least and it was not easy one bit being kept in the dark regarding 'this gift' when everyone else knew!

Style XL - I'm Ready!

Well, I've done it! I've went and booked my flights to Birmingham for Style XL and I can't blimming wait! Right now I'm in a pick 'n' mix of feeling excited, nervous, anxious, adventurous, shock... and most of all happiness?

I've went out of my comfort zone and am ready to take on new challenges in my life and to also take a leap of faith in believing I will be alright to do this.

Travelling on my own for the first time is going to be a major adjustment but something I'm sure I am more than capable of and it's not till July so plenty of time to prepare, have mini episodes of freaking out and panicking about WHAT TO WEAR and PACK? Yikes! I'm gonna need to to start planning pronto! I only have two and a bit months.. Maybe I should rewind before I actually start panicking! Okay back to the excitement phase please!

I may not particularly know anyone personally yet that is attending BUT I can get to know some! This is going to an event that gives me opportunity is doing just that and I'm ready to grab that opportunity!

Style XL - I'm READY! :D (Maybe, sorta, I can soo do this!)

Are you going to Style XL? Have you been to an event like this before? I'm going on my own so any words of advice will be welcome.
